Hello,
I have been experiencing a few freezing issues on M1 Mac OS Big Sur (V11.1) for SeeMusic with version 4.3.6. The main issue seems to be that I cannot resize the SeeMusic window without the entire program freezing, and in full-screen mode I was unable to exit the program with esc or by moving the cursor to the top of the screen. I also have experienced a few issues with the video playback, where the MIDI and video pauses for about 20 seconds or so before starting. I'm just wondering if this has to do with my Mac, because version 4.3.5 was working well as usual.
Thank you so much!
Hi,
Below is my original post in case others had a similar issue:
Using the green fullscreen button at the top left of the window was working to resize the window, but unfortunately SeeMusic freezes everytime I click anywhere on the window. Attached is the latest SeeMusic crash log, I have quit all apps on my computer and shut down/restart, but it's not working. I don't know anything about app development, but I'm wondering if something within update 4.3.6 made M1 Macs more prone to crashes/freezing within the SeeMusic program?
Thank you for your reply and details on using the app with M1 Mac. I will try deleting the app and reinstalling it.

Thank you for your email this morning - please try to respond on here so other users with same issue would be able to see.
After updating to the new version from the App Store this morning, I also encountered a rainbow wheel and freeze on opening the app.
After deleting the app from the Applications folder and downloading again, the issue disappeared.
- Have you tried deleting from the Applications folder and reinstalling from the App Store?
- I am testing on an M1 - so any issue here would not be that it's generally broken on an M1 - it does currently run well on an M1 in general. However, the current public release is an Intel build that would run on Rosetta - I am hoping to get the full Silicon build out later this week, but it is somewhat dependent on the framework developers all having their frameworks Silicon-ready, and there is still on holdout on that front. There is a very small chance that having a native Silicon build could help with an issue.
Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that it is working when I use the green fullscreen button at the top left of the window. I think I will edit within that fullscreen.
Thank you!
Thank you for letting me know! I appreciate the help and I think I will still be able to use the app.

Thank you so much for letting me know about changing to AVPro, it works now!
The resizing issue happens before I do anything with the effects, but when disabling the texture, saber, and background on their own separately and also together, the resizing issue still happens. I also shut down and restarted my Mac M1 along with SeeMusic app and the issues still occurs.
Thank you,

- For the video pausing -
- This is probably due to a bug in Unity VideoPlayer where performance is degraded when using an external monitor.
- Solutions:
Change the Video Plugin to AVPro in Display Settings (left of main screen)
Disconnect External Monitor
- For the screen resizing issue - I can't replicate this issue on either the Intel or M1 MacBook Pros I have available on either MacOS 11.6 or MacOS 12 . . . which will make it quite a bit harder for me to help with. I'll need you to help me test a bit.
Please test -
Disable Texture. Disable Saber. Disable Background.
Choose the Sample Piece - Moonlight Sonata from the Sample Pieces list.
Quit and reopen SeeMusic.
Test for resizing issue - does it still occur?
