On Mac Version 12.5.1 (was happening before Monterey upgrade as well), I want to choose a filename to render to, but I've been trying various settings so the filenames are similar. The freezing happens most when I select an existing file and try to rename it. It highlights the selected filename and appears to give focus to the file textbox for editing and then freezes so I can't modify the filename. I have to Force Quit SeeMusic every time in order to try again. It sometimes works after several restarts, but it shouldn't do it at all. I can work around it by typing out the filename each time, although I think it has frozen on some occasions even when I do that.
I am trying to render in ProRes if that matters for this bug.
Hello,
Very sorry about this issue. This is a known issue with the framework that selects the save location on MacOS on recent versions of MacOS. I've been in touch with the framework developer for months on it - hopefully he fixes it for good in the near future.
The workaround is:
- When the freeze happens, click anywhere outside SeeMusic (the desktop, for example), then click back onto the save window. You may have to do this a couple times. It should at least temporarily unfreeze - at some point it usually fully returns to normal.
I'm fully aware this is completely unacceptable and will continue to try to find a better solution as soon as possible.
Thank you for using SeeMusic
