Dear SeeMusic Creators,
For more than a year now, in all previous versions I've had the same issue with SeeMusic on Windows 10.
Every video I import appears as a lower quality, and overall worse looking video than the file I selected to import. Most of the time it appears brighter too, fixing it with the video settings in the app makes it even worse.
Usually I import high quality high bitrate pre-processed videos into SeeMusic. I export using H.264, 1920*1080 60fps, this creates an mp4 file. I also tried other formats, none of them is better.
Below, you can find an example of how this looks.
The original file:
And the video exported from the app, settings tuned to match the original quality as much as possible:
To be honest, my preferred solution to this problem would be if SeeMusic was able to render videos with alpha channel, making the bottom part transparent. This way we could generate the synthesia part with SeeMusic, but also we could use a professional video editing software for the final assembly of the video. The graphics of SeeMusic is the best I was able to find, but when it comes to editing the whole video, it is hard to compete with professional software. With the alpha channel export, it would be possible to have the best of both worlds.
Thank you for reading.
Thank you for explaining your situation and providing the screenshots.
1. I'm assuming you are absolutely sure that you have the Contrast, Brightness, and Saturation all set to their default settings in Video Settings?
2. It would be helpful if you could send the video file you provided in the example so that I can test it as well. Can you please email a download link to visualmusicdesign@gmail.com?
There likely is not more that I can do to address this at this time. I do already have transparent video marked as a feature request for the future, but it was not possible to previously implement, and I believe it still remains impossible at this time.
