Hi Peter, absolutely love this app and your amazing work to create all the new features - having recently joined at 2.7 on iOS with no issues at all. But latest 3.0 iOS version seems to freeze each time I render shortly after the start of the video rendering sequence (about 37% in) . Using on iPad and the app just freezes. Any advice welcome or maybe just a bug given its such a new release version so will look out for any fixes. thanks a lot

That’s really awesome to hear! Thanks very much for letting me know 😀
Hi, I have now updated and tested 3.0.2 on iOS. Everything is working perfectly. What ever you did fixed my problem. I can render in AV Pro and Basic perfectly. thank you so much.
5 Star review coming up!
Hi, I can't see the 3.0.2 update yet - but will keep an eye out.
I have started to use MacOS on my MacBook Pro (2014, running Mojave 10.14.6) as an alternative.
But I was struggling with the crop function. I am sending you a separate video to explain.
Any help would be welcome
thanks a lot
thanks so much - I will try later tonight and let you know.
I love this app! :-)
Version 3.0.2 should be up now - it has the option to use either framework.
I've tested it thoroughly on several iOS devices and haven't been able to replicate any problems with AVPro rendering.
I'm really sorry if it continues to not work on your iOS device - but at this time, I'm not sure if there would be more I could do.
- Please let me know if AVPro still isn't working in Version 3.0.2?
- If not, is there any way you can use the app on a desktop computer?
thanks for letting me know. I have continued to try on iOS but having the same issue. Will look out for 3.0.2.
Hello, just wanted to post an update -
- Have tested Version 3.0.1 on an iPhone 6S and and iPad, both seem to be working perfectly. I can't replicate the issue you are experiencing at this time. I honestly don't know what's going wrong with Version 3.0.1 on your iPad.
- The issue you were experiencing before was with the "Basic" rendering framework. That has been the only option on iOS up to this point. However, that framework now has the crash issue that you originally experienced.
- AVPro received an update that made it compatible with iOS recently, so in 3.0.1, I switched the app over to using AVPro. It seems to be working perfectly on all the iOS devices I'm testing (but not on your iPad).
- My best guess is that the issue you have right now is due to an issue with the rendering file path on AVPro on your iPad. I will try to revert that, and hopefully post a 3.0.2 update later today for you to try.
Thanks for your patience.
Thanks for letting me know that iOS doesn't work.
Will be more throughly investigating tomorrow to provide a fix.
Hi, tried the latest version and it no longer freezes but doesn’t complete the video render. Instead I get this screen.
attaching a screen shot of my video settings too. I have selected the lworst resolution/frame rate as far as I can tell but still get the message. Is there an option not to use AV Pro that I might have missed. I saw other treads about a ‘basic‘ setting.
Have tried on both completely new and existing projects with the same result of the ’unsupported‘ message. The Video I am importing is just a regular iPhone video (iPhone X) not 4K.
also, I noticed that the crop function on the video editor now moves the video up or down (rather than crop it) . I believe someone else flagged this. Not sure if it’s the intention as I found a way around but requires you to then move the keyboard in visual settings to compensate.
thanks for any advice.
The 3.0.1 update for iOS is now available - when you have a chance, could you please let me know if it has fixed the issue? Thank you
Great - thank you - I will keep and eye out and let you know the results.
I am about to upload an update with what should hopefully be a fix. Version 3.0.1 for iOS should be up by this evening or tomorrow at the latest.
Hi
thank you
I’m running latest iPadOS 14.0.01 with a 3rd gen iPad Air.
here are the screen shots - including the point at which it freezes. It stops at the same point each time. I have successfully managed to render this video previously with the same settings when using 2.7. However all the video‘s I have tried today (about 6 old projects) all experience the same freeze problem at roughly the same point - just after video rendering begins.
thanks for any advice - I love using your app!
I will take a look. Could you please provide:
- Your full iOS Device specifications
- A screenshot of your Create Video Settings in the app
- A screenshot of the Player Settings window
Thank you!
