Hello,
I have a "small" problem with SeeMusic.
The RAM consumption increases every second up to 15 GB.
I have disabled all effects and in the media settings all files are disabled.
So SeeMusic has NOTHING to do actively.
My system has crashed several times and I have had to disable the program via Task Manager or restart the computer.
Where does this enormous consumption come from?
Thxs, best,
Roman
Okay, thxs a lot...
This sounds like an issue that seems to be specific to your computer. Unfortunately I don’t know what could be going wrong, and I don’t have any further solutions to offer at this time.
Thanks a lot, the behavior is a bit better, and the RAM numbers don't rise as high as before either...
but the problem is that the program gets slower and slower, and at some point I have a latency, i.e. distance between pressing the key and appearance in the image of a few hundred milliseconds...
Does this sound more like a hardware or a software problem?
The latency is not immediately after starting the program, but only after a few minutes...
Here’s a link to version 3.6.2, the oldest version I have readily available - https://www.dropbox.com/s/u4skv9zf60v9ssg/SeeMusic%20Windows%203.6.2.zip?dl=1
Hello, maybe it's not Unity after all, because I tested other Unity Piano Visualizers and the system remains stable... Is there an older version of SeeMusic? It would be interesting to test if it works better with a version before 3.9... The only thing I need is the Light-Effect, nothing else... I don't need to see the virtual keyboard, cause one sees the real keyboard I'm playing recorded via cam... I only need the Light-Effect to make the key I press shimmer... Do you have an idea, how I can realize that any way?
Not without your specific computer on hand, sorry... even then, it’s probably a Unity problem, and out of my control.
Ohhh, I am very sorry to hear that.... I think SeeMusic is really great, and it would be nice to be able to continue using the program, just without these restrictions... Is there any way to find out the cause of the problem?
It should normally consume 1.5 - 5 GB of RAM.
The behavior on your system is abnormal. There just isn't anything I can do to debug it without your computer on hand for testing.
What is the normal behavior of the program,
how does the task manager look like on your system, and
how much memory should the program normally consume?
Sorry to hear this!
Unfortunately, this is likely a bug with the way the Unity framework is interacting with your computer hardware, and there likely isn't anything I can do to help with it. I can't replicate the issue on my Windows computer, so it would be very difficult for me to help you debug the issue. This does not seem to generally be an issue with SeeMusic on Windows 10...
I wish I could be of more help right now!

Now twenty minutes have passed, and the RAM usage currently stands at over 17 GB, and the value is continuously increasing...
The limit of my RAM is almost reached (91%) and the next crash is only a matter of time...
Ok, I loaded Transcendental Etude No. 12 "Chasse-Neige" and restarted the program. The program's behavior is similar to before, and after one minute the working memory capacity is in the 2.5 Gb range.
How much RAM should the program actually take up?

Hello, I have SeeMusic version 3.9. My Windows is Windows Home 10 vers. 1909.
Where do I find the Pieces Window in SeeMusic?
Also, what version of Windows are you running?
What version of the app are you using? Does this still happen when you select the Sample Pieces file in the Pieces window, then restart the app?
