I faced the exact same problem as "reachvictor1". Here is his thread: https://www.visualmusicdesign.com/forum/technical-support/video-render-hangs-right-after-audio-rendering-is-done-mac
Specifications: Macbook Air M1 2020, 16 GB Memory, 256 SSD, Chip: Apple M1.
Also I would like to mention, I work for a music website company which works a lot with Seemusic App. It is the biggest music website for South Asian music (www.bollypiano.com). Your app has been a great help and I have been using since the very launch of Seemusic app. We have shown support by purchasing subscriptions time-to-time and rating the app 5-stars as it deserves. A huge thanks to the team working behind this wonderful app!
However, I have faced this problem time to time: a new unstable update turns up and our work is interrupted until a stable fix comes up. Also, there is no way to go back to older versions on Mac Appstore. We have to work with certain deadlines to make sure the audience's requirements are met and for the website to work efficiently. I completely understand the effort you put in and "trial-and-testing" is part of the process, but is there a solution to this problem? Perhaps keep the stable version with the core-features available on the website which we can always rely upon?

Thank you for the information.
I think I've identified the issue that caused the render to "freeze" after audio rendering was complete.
Version 4.3.10 has been submitted to Apple for review and should fix that issue. It should be available later today or tomorrow.
1. Please let me know if Version 4.3.10 fixes the post-audio render freeze issue for you?
2. I have noticed a different issue with AVPro video rendering stalling out on MacOS 10 minutes or so into rendering. I'm not sure why that's happening, but it is 100% an issue with that specific 3rd party framework, not the SeeMusic app itself. This can be avoided on Mac by switching the Render Framework to Basic in Render Settings. I know you had mentioned that the Basic render framework wasn't working for you. If that's still the case, can you please email me the Log file after attempting the render with the Basic framework?
3. Unfortunately, I am on holiday for Thanksgiving now, and will be away from my computer until Saturday. Thank you for understanding.

Here is everything you need. The audio is used from the video.
Thank you for your quick response, I appreciate it.
For my video: I tried switching the render framework, it doesn't help. I have an andriod phone (4.3.8 Beta update of Seemusic installed) in which I tried rendering the same video, with same setting. Still facing exact same problem.
Yesterday I tried to render the same project on Macbook but not the entire video, just a fragment of 15 seconds from the middle by setting the start and end markers. Surprisingly, it rendered perfectly. It seems this issue is only for longer videos maybe? The project video is of 4 mins. If in case, this information can help you figure out the problem.
For Moonlight Sonata Sample Piece (full length): It did render in AVPro, but did not in Basic.
I will email you the stuff you asked tomorrow. Thanks!
Updates are a necessary part of developing an app, and I'm unfortunately not in control of Apple's distribution or notarization policies. As soon as I am able to replicate an issue, I immediately fix it. Right now, the app is working perfectly in testing on my computer, so I wasn't aware there is still an issue like this that needs to be fixed after the most recent updates.
I understand that you're frustrated, but please understand that I'm doing my best as an independent developer.
If you can work with me to identify and solve the issue, I'm sure I can help you. I need responses to all of the questions below to identify the issue.
Please email the Log file immediately after experiencing the render freeze issue to visualmusicdesign@gmail.com -
The Log file on MacOS is located at:
~/Library/Containers/com.VisualMusicDesign.SeeMusicUnity/Data/Library/Logs/Visual Music Design/SeeMusic/Player.log
To easily get to this folder, use the GO menu at the top of the Finder, and select GO TO FOLDER, and copy that address into it.
2. Please try using the other "Render Framework" option in Render Settings - if you're using AVPro, try Basic, or vice versa.
Does that fix the render freeze issue?
You should be able to test a small section of the render for this.
3. Please try rendering the Sample Piece - "Moonlight Sonata." Does that render with either Render Framework?
If that works, I need you to email me the MIDI, Audio, and Video files for the render that was freezing to visualmusicdesign@gmail.com
No, the problem did not solve. Video rendering still hangs after updating the software to 4.3.7. I tried your suggestions above as well. I tried the same thing on my friend's Macbook, still the same problem. Also, now the audio also desyncs with the video.
I would really appreciate if a stable version is here on the website to download. There are always bugs with new updates. I have been trying and testing it on different PCs, Andriods, etc. The app is really going downhill and I am losing patience.
I just tried testing on my new M1 Macbook Pro and am unable to replicate the issue.
1. Did the solutions I suggested previously solve the issue for you?
2. If you're still having issues, please email the media files for the project, including the ORIGINAL video file, to visualmusicdesign@gmail.com
Thank you
Thank you for your quick response. I see, now I understand. Kudos to you for making all the ends meet and being active with the updates as well as on forums.
I was just curious, if it was possible to have a Seemusic software here on website, completely independent of the Apple Appstore? Essentially, like how other softwares do (like DAWs, Sibelius, Musescore, etc.)
For a short term fix -
Try changing the Video Plugin in Display Settings to AVPro
Try disconnecting an external display, if you have one connected.
2. I believe this may be an M1 specific issue. My M1 MacBook Pro is arriving tomorrow and I'll be testing to see if I can replicate this then.
I do the absolute best I can with bug fixing in the app as soon as possible.
Bugs like the one you are experiencing are often introduced by reckless Unity updates - they are not often my fault. I have to update Unity occasionally to maintain current device support, and they have had a horrible track record for the last year with introducing bad bugs that take months to fix. Sometimes there is nothing I can do if Unity breaks something in their own framework, especially where video playback and seeking is concerned, which is likely the culprit here.
I can't provide older versions of the app easily due to Apple's distribution policies.
Thank you for understanding
