So how does this actually work?

Hi all, just starting out with this app. I am wondering if I have its abilities all wrong in my presumptions.

Is it possible to mic up a real piano, record my footage overhead, sync the audio and footage then use it in the app after importing that video file with the audio?

Does it have to be midi?
